Piero della Francesca was virtually forgotten for centuries after his death, but regarded since his rediscovery in the early 20th century as one of the supreme artists of the quattrocento. The buildings of Bury St Edmunds Abbey have not survived to the present day, thus books such as this commentary contain vital evidence of medieval reading practices and libraries, reflecting the rich history and.
